Adolescent & Adult Dog Rehoming
Compassionate rehoming & rescue support for dogs ready for their second chapter
We occasionally welcome back True2Gold adolescents or adults when families face unexpected life changes. We are deeply grateful to families who prioritize their dog's well-being and trust us to guide them into their next chapter.
Returning home is often a joyful reunion with canine relatives, but safety and comfort always come first. New arrivals stay separate while we complete veterinary evaluations and assess social readiness, allowing introductions to happen gradually at each dog’s own pace.
During their stay, we focus on optimal nutrition, health, and refreshed on- and off-leash training to build their confidence. While some dogs need help feeling braver in public or learning to settle, every single one shares an immense love for people and a desire for the attention they’ve missed.
When they are fully ready, we carefully match each dog with an approved family or individual. A structured trial period ensures everyone settles in comfortably and confirms a lifelong fit.
Placement fees apply, varying based on the length of care, veterinary expenses, and individualized training.

Home Requirements
People come first
Approved homes must provide 24/7 companionship. These dogs thrive on human connection and emotional closeness, so we prioritize placements where someone is home most of the time to include them fully in daily family life.
Few other pets
These dogs thrive best in homes with few or no other pets. Because they need dedicated, individualized attention from their people, we look for environments where they won't have to compete for time, space, or affection.
Kids friendly
These dogs do best in homes with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respect boundaries. Because they thrive in a calm, predictable environment, we look for families where interactions are gentle and mindful.
Ready for home
These dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on basic training. They come with a smooth transition plan and a trial period to ensure a confident, lifelong match with their new family.
Available Dogs for Adoption
Bear
Bear is a Midnight Golden from BB’s litter who is three-quarters Golden Retriever and one-quarter Great Pyrenees.
Bear brings the joyful energy we love in Goldens, balanced by a wonderful ability to settle down and relax. His attentive, eager-to-learn nature makes him a promising companion with great potential for service work, depending on his ongoing training and individual suitability. He weighs approximately 70 pounds and may fill out to around 75 pounds as he matures. His beautiful, full coat does shed, but regular brushing keeps it manageable.
Bear is neutered and vet-checked before joining his new family. He is housebroken, knows "sit" and "stay," and comes when called here, though he will need consistent reinforcement of his basic training—especially his recall in a new home where he may be eager to explore.

Lou
Lou is an exceptionally precious, AKC purebred True2Gold Golden Retriever who is looking for his forever home. At 3 years old, he is neutered, up to date on his vet checks, and ready to bring immense joy to the right family.
Lou is a major people-lover who thrives on companionship. He asks for hugs all the time and simply does not want to be left alone all day. He loves everyone—adults, kids, and other dogs alike! He is not aggressive toward other dogs and has a wonderful, stable demeanor.
Lou is so intuitive and well-adjusted that he could even be trained as an awesome therapy dog for anxiety, PTSD, or epilepsy support.
He recently passed his vet check and is just a little underweight (he gained 13 lbs last week!), so he is currently working on gaining 7–10 lbs to reach his ideal, healthy weight.

Retired Breeders for Adoption
At True2Gold, our adult females who have completed their breeding journeys are ready to transition into loving forever homes. Whether joining a family, supporting a veteran, or serving as a dedicated companion or therapy partner, our adult dogs bring maturity, gentle temperaments, and steady companionship.
Because our dogs are deeply cherished family members, we ensure their transition is gentle and paced entirely to their comfort level. We typically recommend a few introductory visits at the ranch—starting with walks here before visiting your home. While it can take a couple of weeks for a dog to settle into a new routine, once they realize they are in a safe and loving environment, their loyalty and affection run as deep as yours.
We currently have no adult females available for adoption. Rehoming fees will apply when dogs become available.
